Fitness has always been in my DNA. I grew up competing in numerous sports and pursued my love of hockey through to my early 20s eventually hanging up my skates after junior hockey. As much as I loved the sports I played, there was one key element I’ve enjoyed most… The training! I found the off season was a time where I could let my body recover and really delve into a focused training routine that was tailored for me specifically. With each off season came different needs, recovery from injuries, working on my mobility and/or making sure I was getting the nutrition I was lacking.

I’ve been lucky enough to take all my experience in this industry and turn that passion of training into something i can share with my clients.   Being able to recreate these moments of seeing my own clients master a movement, push past their personal bests or accomplish something they didn’t even know their body was capable of is what I enjoy most. There is something great about being able to share my knowledge of just how amazing the human body is and what it is capable of when it comes to fitness. My expertise in many aspects of fitness training and conditioning, makes me a well-rounded trainer that can cater to a wide range of client’s needs from athletes to beginners to senior citizens.

No two people are created equally, this is why I work with you to create a fitness program that is as unique as the individual that you are. We will work together to determine exactly what your fitness level is and what your fitness goals are.  This way we can develop a program that caters specifically to your current abilities but will also get you to that next step.

I create custom workout plans that involve combinations of either weight training, cardio, HIIT, or aerobic movements that are diverse and engaging, while keeping your motivation high and empowering you to surpass your own perceived limitations.

So whatever your goals are, whether you want to build muscle, lose weight, up your cardiovascular training, or you just need a little extra energy chasing your grandchildren…..I have the experience and skill to help you reach them!

Strength Training

Strength training focuses on resistance to improve the look of and strengthen your muscles. A well-rounded fitness program includes strength training to help you achieve your fitness goals in numerous ways. It improves your muscle size, tendon and ligament strength, bone density and joint function. If you want to build muscle mass or work towards getting that 6 pack, lifting weights is very essential in achieving those goals.

As we age our body fat percentage will increase if we don’t strength train to replace the lean muscle that diminishes over time. No matter what age you are, strength training can help you preserve and enhance your muscles.

Cardiovascular Training

Cardiovascular training can help you achieve optimum health. This type of training uses multiple muscles and gets your heart pumping and also improves your endurance. A person’s cardio endurance indicates their aerobic health level. If losing weight is your goal, then incorporating cardio is extremely beneficial for burning calories. Improving cardiovascular levels will help you carry out your daily activities by increasing your endurance and stamina.

As we age there are many factors that come into play that may prevent us from exercising regularly. They could be health related, weight or pain issues, or the fear of injury. However, as we age, an active lifestyle and exercise has a number of health benefits that become more important. 

Exercise can help increase your energy levels, strengthen your heart, and help relieve and manage pain symptoms. As we become older, our metabolism naturally slows, making exercise a key factor to help us maintain or lose weight.

People who have consistently stayed active during their life tend to have improved immune systems and healthier digestive tracts. They are also at lower risk of developing Alzheimer’s, diabetes, obesity, osteoporosis, heart disease, and certain types of cancers.

As senior citizens it is important to consider the way our body feels from day to day. A regular exercise regiment is crucial in enhancing our mobility, flexibility, and balance. We want our joints to feel good each and every day. Strength training can help alleviate joint pain and chronic conditions of arthritis. If we consider all of the health benefits of a regular exercise program later on in life we can make sure that our later years can be our best years! 

H.I.I.T Exercises

HIIT (high intensity interval training) is a form of interval and cardio training involving short periods of intense aerobic exercise with minimal rest periods. This method does not consist of just cardio but includes weights as well. The object is to perform intense bursts of energy as hard as you can to get a quick and efficient training session.
